Gibraltar Airport is not technically in Spain, but a lot of people visiting the western edge of the Costa del Sol or the Costa de La Luz use the Gibraltar Airport. The only nuisance about flying into Gibraltar is that you then have to walk or drive over the border into Spain and then continue your journey from there. Driving can take forever, it depends on what mood the Spanish customs guys are in! Walking shouldn't take more than a few minutes.
In fact the walk from the aircraft to the Spanish side of the border is probably shorter than the walk from the plane at Malaga Airport to luggage hall!

As there are only a small number of Gibraltar Airport arrivals each day you can simply call the airport to check whether any flight arrivals are on time or not. When you arrive in Gibraltar you are treated to a magnificent first view of the Rock from the top of the airplane steps.

When you are leaving Gibraltar head for the small departures hall which has about 6 check in desks, an information desk, Monarch and Easyjet ticket offices, toilets and a shop and cafeteria.

CAR RENTAL

If you are travelling into Spain it is best to check their policy on taking cars across the border. Niza Cars are based at Gibraltar Airport and Avis also have an office in Gibraltar, the car rental offices are located just across the road from the terminal building at Gibraltar Airport.

TAXI SERVICE

|
|
Taxis at Gibraltar Airport are always waiting for the flights and you will find them just outside the terminal building. If you are travelling into Spain simply cross the border on foot and pick up a Spanish Taxi.

There is a place where you can leave your luggage at Gibraltar Airport , near the check-in desks in the Departure area. Prices vary depending on length of time and size of holdall or suitcase. If it's not manned go to the information desk for help.

The Gibraltar climate is typically Mediterranean with mild winters and warm dry summers, although May to September can get very hot and humid even with the breeze off the Atlantic. There is no rainy season, with most rain falling in the winter months when the average temperature is 59°F (15°C). In summer the temperatures hover around 86°F (30°C).
