FLIGHTS TO THIS AIRPORT
The development of other Spanish airports has done little to stifle demand for flights into Malaga and each year this airport exceeds record passenger numbers. This is due in part to the large number of expats who have made the Costa del Sol their home and a huge rise in the number of holiday home owners.
Flights to Malaga are available from many different Airports around Europe. See the Airlines page for more information.

CAR RENTAL
A lot of people are concerned about the driving in Spain and I know that it can be a little scary at times, however, the roads from the main International Airports to most of the holiday destinations are fairly good motorways or dual carriageways. Just remember to spend a little time adjusting to your rental car before you start driving as you would at home.
There are a large number of Malaga Airport car hire companies and fierce competition means that they are some great deals to be had if you are prepared to shop around a little.
The main companies operating at Malaga Airport are: Crown Car Hire - Centauro Car Hire - Car Gest - Europa Car Hire - Helle Hollis - Marbesol - National Atesa - Niza Cars - Holiday Autos - Pepecar - Sixt Car Hire

WEATHER
The climate in Malaga is moderate in winter with very mild minimum temperatures. The summers are hot, but tempered by the city's proximity to the sea.
The average rainfall is low at around 469 mm a year with most of the rain occurring between November and January.
The sunshine hours are very high with an average of 2,901 hours of sunlight every year. The maximum temperatures are in July and August, and the minimum in December. The average annual temperature is around 23°C (73°F), and with its blue sky and broad expanse of bay the city has been compared to Naples. the climate also makes it the ideal place to grow olives and fruits including strawberries, oranges and lemons
Because Malaga and the Costa del Sol is characterised by having a backdrop of mountains, rising as high as 2000 metres, if you are staying inland then temperatures can be significantly lower, particularly when the sun is not shining.
