Tarifa is situated in a zone with a warm and humid climate: mild winters and hot summers. On very hot days, the ever-blowing wind considerably reduces the average temperature in Tarifa, compared to other places in Spain.
Even during high season in summer, temperatures are always quite comfortable, and you never get the intense heat that cantral Spain suffers. However, don't forget warm clothes for summer nights, the high level of humidity makes it pretty chilly, even though temperatures are not all that low.
During the winter it rains quite often but not usually for the length of the day. Winter days can be from T-shirt weather to very rainy and very cold. Temperatures during cold and clear winter nights can drop to 0°C in exceptional cases. However the average low will be about 10°C.
Average rainfall is somewhere around 700 mm a year, and it falls almost entirely in the autumn and winter months.
